Matching Older Brickwork in Shrewsbury
Shrewsbury has plenty of older properties, from traditional town houses and Victorian terraces to cottages and larger period homes.
When one of these buildings needs repairing or extending, new bricks can stand out straight away. They are often too clean, too even in colour and simply do not look right next to brickwork that has been there for decades.
Reclaimed bricks already have natural variation, weathering and age, which helps new work blend in much better.
If you are not sure what you need, send us a few clear photos of the existing brickwork and we can help you find the closest match from our current stock.
A Good Fit for Shropshire Properties
It is not just Shrewsbury itself. Across Shropshire there are plenty of older cottages, farmhouses, barns, walls and rural properties where reclaimed bricks can make a big difference.
For repairs and extensions, the aim is usually simple. You want the new work to look like it belongs there.
That is where reclaimed bricks work well. They have already aged naturally, so they are much easier to match with older buildings than bright new bricks.
They are also a good choice for garden walls, chimneys and other smaller jobs where appearance matters just as much as the brick itself.
Our Reclaimed Brick Range
We stock a wide range of reclaimed bricks in different colours, sizes, textures and styles.
Our current range includes handmade bricks, imperial bricks, wirecut bricks, blue bricks and other reclaimed bricks suitable for a wide range of projects.
Stock changes regularly because our bricks come from demolition and reclamation projects, so it is always worth getting in touch to see what we have available.
If you need help matching existing brickwork, send us a photo and some measurements if you have them. We will give you an honest idea of what is likely to work.
Ideal For
Our reclaimed bricks are commonly used for:
- House extensions
- Property renovations
- Brick matching
- Chimney repairs
- Garden walls
- Boundary walls
- Barn conversions
- Older cottages and farmhouses
- Commercial building projects
We can help with smaller repair jobs as well as larger orders.
Reusing Good Building Materials
Reclaimed bricks have already had one life, but that does not mean they are finished.
We recover bricks from demolition projects, sort them and prepare them to be used again. This keeps good materials in use and helps reduce the amount of waste going to landfill.
For older properties, it also means you can often find bricks that look far more natural than anything newly made.
